The Young Architects Design Award was initiated in 1995 by the University of Florida School of Architecture and is given each year to recognize an alumnus who has graduated within the previous 20 years and made significant design contributions in the architecture profession.

Casa 640 received a Citation Award in the Unbuilt category at the 2021 American Institute of Architects (AIA) Florida/Caribbean Design Awards. Citations recognize projects of notable accomplishment in a specific area. The Unbuilt Award recognizes outstanding examples of recent, initially commissioned architectural designs not yet built or complete and shall exemplify excellence in design while exploring the nature and science of our profession. The focus is on the process of design.
