Tour Day is Docomomo US’s annual national event that works to raise the awareness of and appreciation for buildings, interiors, and landscapes designed in the United States during the mid-20th century.
The event organized by Puente, who was recently appointed the President of Docomomo Florida, included a visit to a mid-century modern house in Miami Beach originally designed by Leonard H. Glasser and remodeled by Jessica De Velasco in 2010.
“New Typologies for Housing in Miami”, a paper published in the III International Conference on Collective, Sustainable Housing, in Guadalajara, MX, dedicated to issues related to architecture and urban planning and envisioned as a space for international reflection on collective housing and its relations with the contemporary and historical city.
“Miami, Laboratory City”, an article about the 21st century transformation in Miami’s urbanscape through the lens of two Florida International University student projects in the Miami Design District (print).
“El manifiesto vivo de Al Borde en la Bienal de Arquitectura de Chicago”, an article published in Plataforma Arquitectura.
The City of Parkland tasked FIU School of Architecture and FIU By Design with creating conceptual plans and drawings for the 6,000 square foot addition to the City Library. Students and faculty developed ideas that were presented to City officials and staff.
